Some online activities are set to be launched to mark China's mid-autumn festival.
ISLAMABAD: China Cultural Centre in Pakistan collaborated with the Culture Office of the Embassy of the People's Republic of China in Pakistan, to launch a series of online activities for celebrating the 2024 Mid-Autumn Festival: 'A Moon Moment to Remember' in Pakistan and for people around the world.
This year, Pakistan is an addition to the family that celebrates the Mid-Autumn Festival with full-on colorful events, starting with "Mid-Autumn Day in Poetry.".
Mid-autumn is one of China's most important holidays – a time for families to come together while the moon is full and to light up the lanterns, symbolizing lighting up their path to success for the remaining period of the year. It falls on the fifth day of the eighth lunar calendar month when the moon is full. This year, the festival starts on September 17.
In Chinese culture, the Mid-Autumn festival always symbolizes reunion. Having a great feast at round-shape tables and admiring the full moon are the hallmark traditions of this festival because a round shape symbolizes completeness and reunion.
Events like theme videos, performances, and others celebrating the Chinese Nation's festivities to mark this year's Mid-Autumn Festival will be exhibited and distributed via Cultural Counsellor and Director China Cultural Centre in Pakistan Zhang Heqing's Twitter, the Official WeChat Channel of Cultural Center and the Official Facebook Page of China Cultural Centre in Pakistan.
